Biden: The real good old boy

Biden: The real good old boy

Diego Martin Velazquez Caballero

The president of the United States of America implemented a strategy to standardize his government with the great figure of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal. In the campaign, Biden decided to use less radical motivating concepts of unity and reconstruction than Donald Trump and with this he achieved the title of the US executive power against ultra-Christian conservative nationalism. The rhetoric of conciliation, employment, inclusion, equality, communitarianism and liberal progressivism was more powerful in an Electoral College destined to preserve the aristocratic sense of North American democracy.

Even though the polls generate an adverse climate for the Joe Biden administration, it is important to analyze the conduct of the US electoral system. The idea that whoever has the popular vote does not always reach the support of the electoral commissioners is a warning for political moderation and campaign prominence. Donald Trump is right in several critical aspects focused on the Yankee pentagonist, financial and imperialist monster; but his proposals are neither rational nor common sense in a historical moment like the one humanity and his country are experiencing. Trump has exposed the oligarchic interests that the gringo Leviathan represents; however, he does not have a public agenda to replace the military financial industrial complex, nor the bureaucratic giant of public administration. The power of his government was demonstrated in the presidency in charge of him.

Hence, Joe Biden, with his attempt to reflect Roosevelt -the old man-, but with greater prudence and wisdom, represents the lesser evil for the inner circle of the American political system. The so-called "Deep State" of the United States understands that if Donald Trump wins this time they cannot deceive or disobey him. Trump intends to arrive as an Alexander the Great who breaks the knots of public administration and federalism, even if this means dividing the American Union and giving rise to the nine historic nations.

The last Democratic administrations have been unfair to Mexico, they are right in considering that the obligation of order corresponds to the Mexican government itself. However, the Mexican neighborhood affects them more because of their stubbornness in neglecting colonialism. Mexico cannot govern itself because it depends, for better or for worse, on the United States.

To Franklin D. Roosevelt, Mexico owes the notion of a bureaucratic rationality in the construction of the Welfare State. Cardenismo and Avilacamachismo constitute a bridge of Mexican governability and connection to the national security of the United States. However, Mexico cannot grow at the rate of the United States. The political control of the country also generated a gradualism in its evolution

Developmentalism and neoliberalism considered that things could be done faster, the error is probably found in the ephebocratic impulse of some moments.

Despite the contradictions between Mexico and the United States for now, AMLO promoted the metapolitical figure of FDR to make American power aware of the need to moderate financial liberalism and nationalist conservatism. When you think about the post-war period of history until the decades of the utopian imagination in the 20th century, things were probably quite regulated, however, the ruling gerontocracy made positive decisions so that humanity did not exterminate itself. That democratic nostalgia that Anne Applebaum talks about probably refers to those years when Nazism, neoliberalism and libertarianism were as controlled as communism. Nixon questioned those leadership styles, but neither Kennedy nor Nixon resembles FDR, Charles de Gaulle, or Adenauer.

Which Roosevelt will the US Electoral College choose this time: the old or the young? Although Trump's diagnosis may be correct on many issues, in reality his style of government presents the traits of the "Peter Pan Syndrome" as dangerous as the extremisms that put the world on the brink of extinction.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is in fashion and that can change many things in the future of Mexico and the United States. Neoliberal nostalgia lies in not weighing its failure properly and recognizing the importance of public order, while the compass is lost for uncivilized liberals, radicalism will advance to the living room and dining room.

Although the magnetism of López Obrador also attracts Donald Trump, and the character considers him his “socialist friend”, the missiles are a point of advance over the wall and, in serious politics, these data cannot be ignored. Which Roosevelt is the favorite of the PRIANRD? Isn't it time to address the ideas of Ken Salazar and Jesús Reyes Heroles?

Probably the bad electoral trends that mark the Democratic Party in the next midterm elections and, above all, presidential elections in the United States, are the hidden purpose of AMLO's visit to North America. Either Biden and the Democrats agree with AMLO to take the Latino vote, or Trump - despite his anti-Mexican propaganda - makes friends with López Obrador's common sense and reinstates the empirical conservative nationalism that brings order despite the Yankee financial and Hollywood aristocracy.

The Morenoist creed in the White House has echoes for the Democratic Party and, particularly, for Joe Biden. The North American oligarchy wants progressive individuals linked to Obama, Kamala Harris or the Clintons as Democratic candidates. But what if Biden plays Franklin D. Roosevelt to stop the untimely Donald Trump – also similar to Roosevelt but called Theodore? Hence the patience - albeit brief - of sleepy Joe and the Yankee establishment's concessions to Amlo's populist expressions.

The success of López Obrador is reflected in the approval of US geopolitics to keep Ken Salazar, approve the legitimacy and magnetism that AMLO accumulates in his social bases, and pay attention to a Mexican agenda to provide results for ordinary people. In addition to gasoline, Americans can come to Mexico to get contraceptives and other things. If Mexico becomes the store across the street -which always has something more-, the vocation of narco-republic assigned by Zbigniew Brzeziski may be forgotten.

The polarization in North American society that derives from the economic crisis throughout the world can lead to Donald Trump attaining political power and implanting a radical conservatism that puts the civil liberties and rights of that country at risk. Within the framework of the AMLO-Biden meeting, it should be noted that the visit of the Mexican president is a support for the influence of the Democratic Party in its conquest of the Latino vote. Likewise, Biden is promoting a welfare state project based on common sense, also important in Anglo-Saxon empiricism. If Donald Trump is so successful, it is because he has added WASP nationalism to common sense, and that is dangerous for North American liberal hegemony, not to mention for plural progressive conquests.

Trump's conservative nationalism is becoming a valuable reference for marginalized and vulnerable Anglo-Saxon groups, Trump is obvious and that is why he seems more honest than the Democrats; but he is also a geopolitician who wants to return to exceptionalism and regional dominance, which would put the Republicans for a long time in the presidency of the United States and in other bastions of power -as has been the case in the judiciary-. If the Republicans and Trump win heading into 2024, will the Democrats ever return?

Ambassador Ken Salazar has recommended that critics of López Obrador in Mexico stop confronting AMLO and help him govern. Could it be that Joe Biden understood the practical advice?

Donald Trump, with everything and his anti-Mexicanism, also managed to get along with AMLO, calling him his “socialist friend” in the days before the meeting with Harris and Biden. Is AMLO the faithful of the balance in the conquest of the Latino vote in the US? Most likely not, but it is important to point out that the crisis of liberalism is raising the need to use common sense in politics, respect it, dignify it, even in Darwinism people expect something from their authorities to survive a little longer. It is not populism but humanism, mercy, what the people of the powerful are asking for. Before they are encouraged to perform other actions, because it no longer makes sense to conserve life.

AMLO's triumph is political, at least it reaffirms his support in Mexico and he won the arm wrestling against Yankee imperialism. Biden took notes with Morena, as Ken Salazar has suggested.

Economic and social relations will change slowly between the United States and Mexico, but the Mexican issue is becoming more important for the empire every day. It is necessary to change and develop many things so that our country can offer something more than basic services and products to the great Polar Bear. But the elements of the exchange do not depend on the presidents, they advance on their own, like the tacos, tequila, soccer and culture that Huntington and Friedman are so scared of. The Mexican plot goes.

Joke

Two Mexican analysts from the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), comment extremely concerned that people are becoming lopezobradorista.

One says to another:

-My nephew converted to lopezobradorismo

The other answers:

-My daughter and her cousins too. I don't know where we're going to stop

-For more anti-amlo campaigns, nothing else can be done

-You have to go to the US Embassy to receive instructions

At the embassy, in charge of the desk -once he has heard their information-, he answers them afflicted:

-Ambassador Ken Salazar also converted to López Obrador. Let's go see Uncle Sam so he can explain to us what's going on.

Once in front of Uncle Sam, the Caesar of the most powerful empire in the world, they point out that the people, the leaders and the North American ambassador become faithful followers of AMLO.

Completely sad and confused, Uncle Sam tells them:

-What can I tell you? My son Joe Biden also became a López Obrador friendly!!!!

What is Dostoyevsky's fault?

 What is Dostoyevsky's fault?

Diego Martin Velazquez Caballero

Literature is a dangerous minefield. Talking about a member of the Literary Olympus from a political perspective; it is a sacrilege. However, the character deserves the challenge and the situation demands it.

In recent days, Jean Meyer referred to the unfortunate situation prevailing in Ukraine, attributing a large part of Vladimir Putin's geopolitical strategy to the literary thought of Fyodor Dostoyevsky - he even offers a reference to The Brothers Karamazov -. In other academic and also artistic texts, the influence of the Russian thinker stands out in the work of the Mexican historian of French origin. Therefore, it seems impossible that Jean Meyer, a great connoisseur of Russia, takes the miserable and mean Russophobia of our days to concentrate the actions of President Putin and the totalitarian thought of Alexander Duguin as inspired by a man of letters. The excellent historian Jean Meyer knows that time is the right dimension of things and -if someone is left alive- he will already have better arguments to explain and understand the terrible Russian-Ukrainian war.

Considering that Russia's actions in Ukraine correspond to Dostoyevsky's feelings is as fallacious as believing that Nazism can be reduced to Goethe or Nietzsche. It is not so, and there is a long thread in the historians' debate to criticize these simple conjectures. Hence the importance of history and the dispute over metanarratives. How much work do historians have to do?

Unlike Russia, in the case of Nazism, Jewish historiography has found evidence of voluntary and popular contributions to the totalitarian ideas of Adolf Hitler. Today's Russia is not the Germany that elevated the author of My Struggle and decided to follow him to hell. It has never been that, nor will it be. Mein Kampf is not the same as The Brothers Karamazov.

Undoubtedly, exacerbated nationalisms are responsible for various social conflicts. But totalitarianism also extends to modern liberal capitalist democracy -the theoreticians of the Frankfurt School tell us- and perhaps the critical thought of History, Social Sciences, Philosophy and even Common Sense have failed. The golden calf always ends up driving us crazy.

Among several studies that exist on the subject of Dostoyevski and that have been read little, I remember the one by Lazlo Foldenyi suggested in a course by Dr. Julio Quesada Martín, at the Universidad Veracruzana. Ideas more, ideas less, the work recounts the experience of the Russian writer imprisoned in Siberia for joining the modernizing movements. The title pretty much says it all: Dostoyevsky reads Hegel in Siberia and bursts into tears. Modernity is a Holocaust, it involves skinning, removing the flesh, getting to the marrow and trying to stay alive. It is impossible, how not to cry? How not to start praying? How not to want to revive God? From there, Dostoyevsky's literature changed and he tried to find the Russian ethos in an anthropological way, which is manifested in the most diverse tropes of his literature.

Anti-Russian thought is a mistake. The great culture of Russia has nothing to do with Vladimir Putin or Alexander Dugin. There are inertias, continuities and ruptures that historians of the stature of Jean Meyer, and other anonymous ones, help to understand.

Dostoyevsky is not Putin, just as the Enlightenment Project is not coca-colonization. We need the sharpness and criticism of the Frankfurt School to move forward when the world is disenchanted. Edgar Morin urges not to lose sanity amid so much complexity, uncertainty and relativism. And we need Dostoyevsky to learn to pray and to live, On top of a brick, but live! And the environmental and health crisis caused by neoliberal and neo-extractivist capitalism seems that it will only let us live there while they go to the Moon or Mars.

The historians' debate makes us understand how polysemic and hazardous the course of things implies. The fault does not lie with Dostoyevsky, nor with the Russians or Ukrainians, there are specific characters and certain interests that must be valued in their proper dimension. The liberal pragmatism of NATO and the United States is more responsible for the Russo-Ukrainian war than Dostoyevsky. And this must be said to avoid other nonsense. For example: that AMLO is a communist or that because of him there is no political science. This is the level of the collaborators of Latinus, financed by the Wilson Center, and it is the ignorance distributed by the pro-Yankee Think Tanks that is based on the Nazi communication strategy, it has been like this since the end of World War II. The Wilson Center is more willing to use nuclear weapons than Vladimir Putin.

Can critical thinking make us honest and less stupid? Who knows. The power of the dollar is greater than that of books, work, morals and ethics; and that is why in Mexico and the world, we are as we are.

Reading Dostoyevski, Goethe, Nietzsche, Aristotle, helps Political Science more than those of the Wilson Center, IMCO branch. Even at the time of the PRI there was Political Science in Mexico -very bad, according to Daniel Cosío Villegas- like today, but there was. The literature of the Loret de Mola is more entertaining than its political science.

Understanding the magnitude of Baltic Slavic culture and other civilizations could help inhibit the utter evil that seems to have hijacked the Modernity Project. Each civilization has its route to Modernity and liberalism cannot become a Darwinian totalitarianism. Mexico is inseparable from North American destiny, but the rest of the world is not; and even Mexico maintains its profound differences with the United States. Liberalism is a school of civilization, however it has lost itself in a darkness from which it will be difficult to get out without a great effort and recognition of moral, ethical and religious values, social or communitarian liberalism has to defeat neoliberalism.

The political science of the Wilson Center is the Nazi schizophrenic Trojan horse that promotes a voracious and inhumane capitalism and has brought living beings to the brink of extinction. Now Dostoyevsky is more necessary than ever, even for the United States. As the French personalists used to say, if the future does not redeem God, the future is lost.

Jean Meyer's trajectory is more than fundamental for Mexican historiography and other topics, as is the case of Russia, perhaps space is needed to understand the hypothesis regarding Fyodor Dostoyevski. I'm sure he'll explain it later.

But that little North American political science is not even useful to get a coyote out of a cornfield, well, every day it becomes clearer to us in the anti-communists and anti-lopez whom even Ken Salazar recommends supporting, imitating AMLO or going over to MORENA. I hope that the gringos give the money to the people and forget about those briefcase Think Tanks.

You have to read more Dostoyevski and less Fukuyama; and begin to cry and pray, at least so that the specter of the Russian player turned literary appears to console us. Dostoyevsky cries and prays to see if in this way the good Lord is encouraged to turn around, revive and redeem humanity; for Fukuyama the God can only be the market. Dostoyevsky's God is that of Kazantzakis, Tolstoy, Soloviev, Jean Meyer, Gandhi; the God of Fukuyama and the Wilson Center is PRI and pro-Yankee.

Echeverría and the Nomenklatura

 Echeverría and the Nomenklatura

Diego Martin Velazquez Caballero

After the death of Luis Donaldo Colosio and the failure of his project of social liberalism, Carlos Salinas de Gortari blamed the nomenklatura and, specifically, the faction of Luis Echeverría Álvarez for sabotaging the modernization of Mexico. Over time, Vicente Fox's political impotence was also pointed out by his collaborators as activated by the Echeverría Álvarez device. In reality, more than Echeverrism, Salinas – and other analysts involved in modernization – proposed this political clique as a scapegoat to justify the enormous difficulties involved in transforming our country. Problems that even the LEA itself faced and that it resolved with an authoritarianism similar to that of the CSG; though both failed.

Mexican despotism is explained by a colonialist structure that unites, in the form of muégano, patrimonialism, corporatism, cacicazgo and corruption. The Latin American anti-liberal regimes must face the enormous challenge of forming Nation States in order to modernize; on the authoritarian, liberal or socialist path.

Echeverría and Salinas were more similar than dissimilar, only that the first was the socialist path implemented by the North Americans and the second, the neoliberal path implemented by the Americans. As well as the joke that the Nazi scientists that the gringos had were better than the Nazi scientists that the Soviets had.

Latin American anti-liberalism, populist or capitalist, left or right, liberal technocrat or socialist technocrat, reflects the colonial model of Spanish colonialism where the different castes remain united in a dynamic space, but without consciousness of fusion. The castes in Latin America are united, but not concentrated; and therefore there are no nations. The rulers and the people only understand each other in the conservative-authoritarian key that inhibits any attempt at social change.

Echeverrismo is a window that allows us to understand the colonialism of Mexico with respect to the United States. In addition to this political clique, other social conglomerates, nations and characters; They also benefit from ruling the social control of the country.

Most Mexican presidents have had to behave like Luis Echeverría, including resorting to violent, authoritarian and public control measures to control some groups for the benefit of others. Sometimes it is thought that this is the least cost, compared to a military intervention by the Superpower, as has occurred in other Latin American latitudes.

In the end, Salinismo turns into Echeverrismo, mortar bogeymen who, more than individuals or cliques, represent a culture, the anti-liberal one, but which always ends up linked to North American imperialism to guarantee social control and modernization; for a moment.

The common denominator of these authoritarian, psychopathic and violent trajectories is represented by anticommunism and the national security of the United States, elements that social analysts and alternative groups in the country must begin to understand better.

The destiny of Mexico is ineluctably connected to the United States and, because of them, various social groups have benefited from characterizing weak or marginalized groups -sometimes more Mexican than others- as evil, ungovernable, communist, narco-satanic, indigenous, etc.; causing the authorization of the Yankee Empire for the exercise of violence and budget spending.

To avoid the Echeverrías and Salinas, relations between Mexico and the United States – as Robert Pastor rightly says – have to change, be more original and authentic. The Mexican oligarchy continues to offer itself as "Polkos" who can order the Comanche territory, but they make things worse every time; until the Union Army and Ulysses S. Grant come along. Güeritocracia supremacy has residence in Madrid or Rome.

Mexamerica or Missiles?

 Mexamerica or missiles?

Diego Martin Velazquez Caballero

The criticisms of the relationship between Ambassador Ken Salazar and President López Obrador show the confusion of the antagonistic Mexicos (Whitexicans/Power Moreno) to the relationship that is convenient for the real Mexico that we have in front of us.

Mexico has not been able to emerge as a sovereign nation because of the imperialisms that colonize it: Spanish, Catholic and North American. The data of the national socioeconomic structure are terrible based on the Iberian, Vatican and Anglo-Saxon plunder. The Mexican economy is as surreal as our culture and, precisely, the social pathologies it causes are calling the attention of the greatest hegemony against the country: the United States. Neither Spain nor Rome are neighbors of Mexico, North America must endure a proximity that is increasingly dangerous and poisonous.

Gen. Francisco Villa expelled the casticista Spaniards from some northern provinces when he held political office, but before Osama Bin Laden he was the first lone guerrilla to attack -quixotically- the United States. Unlike Spain and the Holy See, the United States sent an expedition that unsuccessfully searched for the Centaur of the North. Similar things are happening now, there are too many independent combatants like General Villa - the mercenary drug trafficking groups - who no longer persecute Spaniards according to Alfonso XIII's complaint, but who have turned the north of Mexico and the south of the United States into a one of the highest breaking regions in the world. The Republicans, with enormous possibilities of achieving North American political power, no longer think of sending General John Pershing but rather missiles. This is how Donald Trump considered it and it is not a distant idea for his faithful conservative groups if the strategic geopolitics of the situation in Ukraine are taken into account.

Within the too many criticisms of the government projects of the Fourth Transformation, the educational reform was recently questioned. The gueritocracy is right, many of the measures of the new pedagogical paternalism from the basic level to the superior do not improve the competences, skills, techniques and quality in a dynamic global world. But in almost thirty years of neoliberal governments they did not do much either and the "excellent" contribution of private education simply did not arrive. The national economy depends on remittances from Mexicans abroad, mainly in the United States, the informal economy and drug trafficking (probably in a different order of importance). Our country has not been able to de-petrolese itself, stop being a maquiladora industry, and what remains is simply not enough to measure what it means to be among the top fifty economies in the world. Even the State has to administer neo-extractivism and generate parastatals so that the country can survive.

The fact that barely a quarter of the people who enter primary school reach university, among which almost three quarters are underemployed and unemployed; It is indicative of how much there is to transform and modernize in the socioeconomic structure of Mexico. If the country remains in the economy of dead hands, content and dispossession that so benefits the Hispanic hierarchical castes, subsistence through smuggling and emigration will force the United States to take a rigorous geopolitical measure. The gueritocracy did nothing, and took a lot.

Our economy continues to be informal and dependent on North America, we are a country that manufactures foreign industry, lacks technology and only provides a cheap labor force; although it dominates the movement of Latin American drugs. The field is more than a tragedy.

Coexistence with the United States has become unbearable and, after confirming the ideas of Samuel Huntington, perhaps America under the current administration of Joe Biden has decided to go the other way.

The Democratic administrations have been particularly complicated for Mexico during the neoliberal era, in addition to highlighting that the adjustment and modernization policies were not carried out correctly, they also indicated that drug trafficking increased exponentially, taking the Mexican-American border to the point of being the border of chaos.

Mexico's economic dependence on the United States has been shown in a stubborn way; Despite the exclusion, Mexicans adhere to the American Union. Donald Trump's administration also tried to improve relations with Mexico, but the scenario changed negatively and his hegemonic nationalist project broke down; Now, in his attempt to return to the White House, in addition to the traditional anti-Mexican discourse, he has added Vladimir Putin's strategy to order Mexico, which surely many Anglo-Saxons and even Mexicans will support.

The importance of Mexico as a US backyard or front yard is manifested in the change that the Biden administration has had and the logic of Ken Salazar. According to geopoliticians like George Friedman, relations between Mexico and the States will be conflictive by 2080. The current global crisis has perhaps shown the importance of treating the Mexican question with patience and care in order to inhibit not only a new Mexican-American war, which It would mean complete vulnerability for our country, although it would also expose the United States to its rivals on the southern geographic flank. Ken Salazar has understood that Mexicanness is the kryptonite of the Yankee Empire, Mexicanness is more dangerous than communism or atomic energy, for this reason he proposes a Mexican-American integration delimiting the border to Suchiate that would be more convenient for North American national security in a multipolar and anti-Western world that is approaching and is actually settling in Nicaragua. Abruptly seizing national territory, or more, would generate serious costs in Mexico and the southern United States as a result of guerrilla warfare, as the Republican proposal seems to be. Geopolitical awareness has forced the Biden administration, through Ken Salazar, to approach López Obrador and even exhort the Civic Front, the Catholic Church, the Alianza va por México and even Maria Amparo Cassar to support MORENA. It´s insulting and unacceptable! Say the Iberian gachupines, who have lived in Mexico for so many centuries and whose medieval casticismo is not exhausted.

The Democratic proposal of Mister Danger in these critical moments of humanity must be taken seriously by Mexico. Mexamerica or Spanglishdad can be the starting point in a United States/Mexico relationship that safeguards the scenario of George Friedman and that, without a doubt, will be the rhetoric of the Republicans towards 2024. Ken Salazar is the last chance for a civilizational bridge to reduce schizophrenia and social anomie in our country.
