Debates work

 Debates work

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

This reflection takes place a few hours after the first presidential debate between Claudia Sheinbaum and Xóchitl Gálvez. Regardless of the result, as a precedent to said civic exercise, the aim has been to develop a climate of opinion unfavorable to face-to-face contact between the contenders for the presidency of the republic. It is true that there has been an extensive atmosphere of politicization throughout the six-year term and with political campaigns so advanced that the partisan electoral process causes boredom; However, admitting that the political struggle is defined and that the elections are not competitive shows that indifference and a complacent authoritarian political culture are beginning to consolidate.

There is a global crisis of capitalist liberal democracy; But, at times, it seems that in Mexico it is total and that constitutes a high risk because it generates uncertainty about the regime to come. If politics in Mexico has been canceled, why don't we leave it to artificial intelligence? It has already been said that the best thing for Mexico is for gringos to govern it, but what if it is left to AI?

The agora and debate are inherent to politics. When the possibilities that may emerge from public dialogue between candidates are undermined, politics is nullified. The debates, amplified by different media, could be the only possibility for people to be able to see a more critical and aware image of the candidates about the work carried out by neuromarketing. Individuals could even change the direction of their electoral preference.

Although electoral reform in the INE is important, the basic elements of civilized political competition cannot be ignored in such a negative way.

The ruling party should be attentive to the consequences of political exclusion and undemocratic attitudes. What are the proposals for political reeducation of progressivism to avoid falling into the authoritarian attitudes of conservative thought? If there is no debate, there is no freedom of expression.

The participatory schemes of democratic liberalism must be maintained so that individuals make their contribution to the political system. The debates are important because they are outside the trappings of the rally and the campaign teams. In the debate, the candidates have to show their political leadership nakedly and convey the idea of their ability to mobilize the entire apparatus of political power, to inspire a country.

Debates should not be discouraged; On the contrary, their promotion and attention constitutes the minimum morality of elites and citizens.

I hope that the debate has allowed the growth of the presidential proposals and that the social sectors attentive to this exchange of ideas and criticism, take the necessary information for their electoral participation.

Xochitl. The howitzer off

Although the FAM candidate has indicated that the presidential candidacy was one of her greatest dreams, at times this seems to turn into a nightmare. Some of the collaborators and politicians who agreed to support the campaign have simply abandoned him. The Xóchitl campaign suffers from everyone's abandonment and transfuguism; What's more, to summarize, not even the famous Mr. X decides to contribute and appear in the campaign. The right-wing candidate has no parties, no civil society, or anything; She alone was left with the support of her family circle and her friends.

Xóchitl Gálvez's campaign seems like a rehearsal for young aspiring political consultants. Which is why Mrs. There has been talk of replacing the Front candidate; or abandoning her, which is even worse. It is true that the elections can be described as “non-competitive”, but the opposition is playing a game of abandonment.

The Mexican oligarchy has demonstrated terrible pragmatism, the migration to Morena and the transfuguism of many PRIANRD militants towards the benefits of the Fourth Transformation, render Xóchitl Gálvez's presidential campaign meaningless. Even the idea of divided government does not seem to attract sponsors and competitive political cadres. The problem for the voter is that there are no options or alternatives; They are literally all the same.

Mrs. X is carrying out a testimonial campaign for the Mexican opposition. The neoliberals show that they were never committed to this project and that Sheinbaum's nonsense not only attracts the classes and politicians of the popular sector. In the end, Xóchitl Gálvez's attempts to connect with Mexican society are not enough.

The Mexican opposition did not want to sink with the PRIANRD Titanic and only Xóchitl will remain as captain of an unmanned liner.

A comfortable victory is emerging for Morena and the extinction of the party system corresponding to 20th century Mexico. Xóchitl Gálvez was used by a right

pragmatic and voluble who has no qualms about changing her jacket and disguising herself as a progressive and social democrat.

The excessive partisan migration that Morena receives forces us to rethink the meaning of the political trajectory in the country; If Mexico – as a failed democracy – had been an example of political transition via competitive elections, now it can create the transition of the red grasshopper; Democracy is over.

Xochitl Gálvez and Intermarium

 Xóchitl Gálvez and Intermarium

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

Foreign contacts are significantly harming his campaign because it harms the internal possibilities of his political work and repeats the mistakes of a pro-American, conservative and oligarchic right.

The Frente Amplio candidate will complete a stage abroad of her political promotion to the presidency of Mexico. Xóchitl's visit to the United States, Spain and the Vatican; It is linked to the devices of anti-communism and anti-Russianism that constituted the North American imperialist geopolitics of the Cold War.

The Frente Amplio has discovered its links with US intelligence and White House financing ready to avert any communist and Russian intervention in Latin America.

However, in the face of the current crisis of neoliberal democracy and globalization, what sense does it make to bet on a strategy that has been emptied of content?

Xóchitl Gálvez has all the social and personal profile to compete against the populist narrative of the Fourth Transformation and Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Foreign contacts are significantly harming her campaign because they undermine the internal possibilities of her political work and repeat the mistakes of a pro-American, conservative and oligarchic right.

It may be understandable that the Frente Amplio seeks the support of the “Deep State” to maintain the imperialist hegemony of the United States; But, in the face of the crisis of globalization and the emergence of nationalism, insisting on the protection of neoliberals and globalists results in fueling contradictions that will mean a considerable decrease in their electoral support.

After the global crisis of Covid-19 and the 2030 Agenda, who wants the United States to remain the global superpower? Even Donald Trump seeks a better understanding of the United States with China and Russia.

Republicans are rethinking the geopolitics of the Cold War because they understand that Western civilization must regenerate its values and find new paths in understanding with the world.

Xóchitl Gálvez's visits abroad harm his political campaign, contradict everything he intends to build in Mexico and bring to light the true interests of the inner circle of FAM XX.

Neoliberalism has failed miserably for everyone, a new stage in world history is approaching that forces us to rethink many things.

Mexico and the United States cannot continue on the traditional course of their relationship without noticing the serious changes in the world.

For almost seventy years, the anti-communism and capitalism of the Intermarium were determining factors in the definition of the Mexican president; but, that has failed.

Mexico's independence regains meaning in a moment of orphanhood in the face of North America.

If Donald Trump wins in the next US elections, neither FAM XX nor Morena will be considered allies by an extremist conservative who will promote more than radical changes for Mexico.

Trump is the real danger for the country and that forces us to look for new geopolitical relationships and protect Mexicanness from a terrifying time that is coming.
