Civilizational Conflicts and a Parenthesis for Mexico

Civilizational Conflicts and a Parenthesis for Mexico

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

The situation in the Middle East has created an unexpected scenario for Mexico, allowing it to safeguard the country from conflict with Donald Trump. The conflicts in the Middle East reveal that the United States' problem is not Mexico, but the lack of war. The conflicts with Mexico are important, but less profitable than the conflicts with Arab countries. This suggests that US foreign policy is driven by strategic and economic interests. The tragedy of war saves Mexico from being Trump's center of attention.

In this context, Mexico faces an important challenge: to take advantage of this pause to organize its internal problems and strengthen its economy, while maintaining a prudent and strategic foreign policy. History has shown that Mexico can benefit from complex situations, but it also faces significant risks if not managed properly.

Despite the risk of nuclear energy in conflicts, the attacks on Iran immediately led to a rise in oil prices, a condition that offers the Mexican government resources to address its problems. The Mexican automotive industry remains ambivalent regarding the energy transformation. However, the question arises as to whether the government's current capacity to seize this opportunity and address some of its challenges. The Mexican opposition is reduced to hoping that Trump will once again consider the indirect benefits of the US productive apparatus for the Mexican informal economy; meanwhile, Morena is satisfied with Trump's new commitment to supporting the war in the Middle East.

The current situation raises questions about the future of Mexico-US relations and how Mexico can seize this opportunity to boost its economic and political development. The answer will depend on the Mexican government's ability to partner with the United States in a more open and direct manner. As in the case of Vicente Fox, external circumstances suggest that the problem is not yet solved.

The attention of the American electorate is now focused on problems with the Arab world, which could benefit the Democratic Party and supporters of progressive protest groups.

MAGA Has Fallen in Los Angeles

MAGA Has Fallen in Los Angeles

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

The emergence of various social groups in some of California's major cities in response to the US federal government's intervention by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has further discredited Trumpism globally.

The reaction of the Hispanic community in Los Angeles, California, in particular, may represent a breaking point for Trump's MAGA movement and signal that the United States' techno-feudal neoliberalism cannot exclude migrants working in the informal economy.

California has been the starting point for mobilizations within North America and around the world to challenge Donald Trump's administration.

California is one of the world's most important economies; in addition to the impressive civil resistance of the Hispanic community, there have also been strong demands from various business owners, landowners, and industrialists expressing the economic damage that the mass deportation of immigrants would cause, according to MAGA's approach.

Donald Trump's nativist economic proposal requires a costly restructuring that cannot be based on reactive impulses.

Removing migrants from workplaces and production chains, as Donald Trump is proposing, will disrupt important economic structures and generate greater problems than those Trumpism seeks to solve.

The attacks on migrants by ICE and the various security forces promoted by the Republicans have ultimately incentivized activism among various groups opposed to the American far right, and the country is becoming polarized in ways that are inconvenient for Donald Trump.

If the Republican Party is considering winning the midterm elections and retaining the presidency of the United States, it might consider tempering Trumpism.

The various demonstrations in American cities and the global criticism of WASP conservatism are elements that strengthen Democratic voters and will complicate partisan competition in the immediate future.

Donald Trump's first presidency failed to produce the expected results. It left his country deeply divided, and the confrontational mood, which some consider bordering on civil war, is not conducive to the Republican Party's tendencies.

Furthermore, the abuse of Trumpist measures against the American civilian population will also be an element that will affect the legitimacy of Donald Trump's second presidency.

California has become the Waterloo of Republican Trumpism.

The Calexit forces a rethinking of MAGA and American exceptionalism, and the idea of a North America that includes Mexico and Canada on equal terms is increasingly consolidating.

Latinos for Donald Trump

 Latinos for Donald Trump

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

Some of the aspects that have been established in the electoral analysis after Donald Trump's victory are manifested in the hypothetical Latino vote for the Republicans. Some critics consider that the preferences of various Hispanic American groups living in the United States for Trumpism imply errors of consideration similar to self-sabotage or suicide. However, it is also true that there is an old Hispanic tendency for the Republicans since Nixon and Reagan that, because of its shame, in some cases, is not wanted to be noticed and much less studied. The anti-Castroites of Miami have their reasons for preferring the Republicans; but there are other causes and thoughts.

Beyond the idea of closing the door or removing the ladder, authors such as Samuel Huntington expose data and situations that allow us to notice changes in Hispanic American culture as well as a bumpy process of assimilation to the United States by Latinos. The Harvard pentagonist pointed out in his last academic works, for example, that a considerable part of the Hispanic population was in favor of education through the English language, the rejection of bilingual school models based on racial considerations, and the implementation of labor rights that prevented adequate training and competence in different sectors. That is to say, for Huntington there is a large portion of the Hispanic population, including illegal immigrants, that develops the integration processes experienced by the Irish, Italians, Japanese, Germans, and Poles, as well as some African-American communities, to contribute to the essence and substance of the North American identity.

The problem, from this perspective, is represented by the democratic multiculturalist model that not only multiplies problems and conflicts, but also impoverishes recent immigrant communities. Many Hispanic migrants leave their countries because of the ungovernability and chaos that precedes them, seeking to insert themselves in the United States for economic improvement and order. They do not want to repeat the experiences of the world they have abandoned and consciously assume the sacrifice that assimilation to the WASP culture implies.

It is important to take into consideration these statements by Samuel Huntington because Hispanic American emigration in the United States has incorrect generalizations. The author of the “Clash of Civilizations” states that multiculturalism was an opportunistic proposal by Democratic lawyers, now woke technocrats, who ended up harming and problematizing the migratory phenomenon in the United States. It would even be worth considering under this argument the persistence and extension of criminal networks such as in the case of the Mara Salvatrucha and Mexican drug trafficking.

Now that the south of the United States and a significant part of the East Coast are more similar to Mexico and Latin America, it is understandable that the Hispanic community voted for Donald Trump. In addition, Samuel Huntington points out, many emigrants consider that Republican governments positively influence Latin America more than Democratic ones. Hispanic American culture is assimilated to WASP values if it has the right incentives and rules, multiculturalism has ended up perverting the approach of liberal democracy and the victory of Donald Trump shows the failure of his various policies.

The successful assimilation of some Hispanic communities that seek to be functional in North America has been demonstrated since the government of Barack Obama; however, the multicultural model has not been the correct one in the face of a radical difference between civilizations.

Mexamerica or Missiles?

 Mexamerica or missiles?

Diego Martin Velazquez Caballero

The criticisms of the relationship between Ambassador Ken Salazar and President López Obrador show the confusion of the antagonistic Mexicos (Whitexicans/Power Moreno) to the relationship that is convenient for the real Mexico that we have in front of us.

Mexico has not been able to emerge as a sovereign nation because of the imperialisms that colonize it: Spanish, Catholic and North American. The data of the national socioeconomic structure are terrible based on the Iberian, Vatican and Anglo-Saxon plunder. The Mexican economy is as surreal as our culture and, precisely, the social pathologies it causes are calling the attention of the greatest hegemony against the country: the United States. Neither Spain nor Rome are neighbors of Mexico, North America must endure a proximity that is increasingly dangerous and poisonous.

Gen. Francisco Villa expelled the casticista Spaniards from some northern provinces when he held political office, but before Osama Bin Laden he was the first lone guerrilla to attack -quixotically- the United States. Unlike Spain and the Holy See, the United States sent an expedition that unsuccessfully searched for the Centaur of the North. Similar things are happening now, there are too many independent combatants like General Villa - the mercenary drug trafficking groups - who no longer persecute Spaniards according to Alfonso XIII's complaint, but who have turned the north of Mexico and the south of the United States into a one of the highest breaking regions in the world. The Republicans, with enormous possibilities of achieving North American political power, no longer think of sending General John Pershing but rather missiles. This is how Donald Trump considered it and it is not a distant idea for his faithful conservative groups if the strategic geopolitics of the situation in Ukraine are taken into account.

Within the too many criticisms of the government projects of the Fourth Transformation, the educational reform was recently questioned. The gueritocracy is right, many of the measures of the new pedagogical paternalism from the basic level to the superior do not improve the competences, skills, techniques and quality in a dynamic global world. But in almost thirty years of neoliberal governments they did not do much either and the "excellent" contribution of private education simply did not arrive. The national economy depends on remittances from Mexicans abroad, mainly in the United States, the informal economy and drug trafficking (probably in a different order of importance). Our country has not been able to de-petrolese itself, stop being a maquiladora industry, and what remains is simply not enough to measure what it means to be among the top fifty economies in the world. Even the State has to administer neo-extractivism and generate parastatals so that the country can survive.

The fact that barely a quarter of the people who enter primary school reach university, among which almost three quarters are underemployed and unemployed; It is indicative of how much there is to transform and modernize in the socioeconomic structure of Mexico. If the country remains in the economy of dead hands, content and dispossession that so benefits the Hispanic hierarchical castes, subsistence through smuggling and emigration will force the United States to take a rigorous geopolitical measure. The gueritocracy did nothing, and took a lot.

Our economy continues to be informal and dependent on North America, we are a country that manufactures foreign industry, lacks technology and only provides a cheap labor force; although it dominates the movement of Latin American drugs. The field is more than a tragedy.

Coexistence with the United States has become unbearable and, after confirming the ideas of Samuel Huntington, perhaps America under the current administration of Joe Biden has decided to go the other way.

The Democratic administrations have been particularly complicated for Mexico during the neoliberal era, in addition to highlighting that the adjustment and modernization policies were not carried out correctly, they also indicated that drug trafficking increased exponentially, taking the Mexican-American border to the point of being the border of chaos.

Mexico's economic dependence on the United States has been shown in a stubborn way; Despite the exclusion, Mexicans adhere to the American Union. Donald Trump's administration also tried to improve relations with Mexico, but the scenario changed negatively and his hegemonic nationalist project broke down; Now, in his attempt to return to the White House, in addition to the traditional anti-Mexican discourse, he has added Vladimir Putin's strategy to order Mexico, which surely many Anglo-Saxons and even Mexicans will support.

The importance of Mexico as a US backyard or front yard is manifested in the change that the Biden administration has had and the logic of Ken Salazar. According to geopoliticians like George Friedman, relations between Mexico and the States will be conflictive by 2080. The current global crisis has perhaps shown the importance of treating the Mexican question with patience and care in order to inhibit not only a new Mexican-American war, which It would mean complete vulnerability for our country, although it would also expose the United States to its rivals on the southern geographic flank. Ken Salazar has understood that Mexicanness is the kryptonite of the Yankee Empire, Mexicanness is more dangerous than communism or atomic energy, for this reason he proposes a Mexican-American integration delimiting the border to Suchiate that would be more convenient for North American national security in a multipolar and anti-Western world that is approaching and is actually settling in Nicaragua. Abruptly seizing national territory, or more, would generate serious costs in Mexico and the southern United States as a result of guerrilla warfare, as the Republican proposal seems to be. Geopolitical awareness has forced the Biden administration, through Ken Salazar, to approach López Obrador and even exhort the Civic Front, the Catholic Church, the Alianza va por México and even Maria Amparo Cassar to support MORENA. It´s insulting and unacceptable! Say the Iberian gachupines, who have lived in Mexico for so many centuries and whose medieval casticismo is not exhausted.

The Democratic proposal of Mister Danger in these critical moments of humanity must be taken seriously by Mexico. Mexamerica or Spanglishdad can be the starting point in a United States/Mexico relationship that safeguards the scenario of George Friedman and that, without a doubt, will be the rhetoric of the Republicans towards 2024. Ken Salazar is the last chance for a civilizational bridge to reduce schizophrenia and social anomie in our country.

North America, the possibilities of integration

North America, the possibilities of integration

Diego Martin Velázquez Caballero

We are faced with an extraordinary geopolitical scenario. The way the events in Afghanistan have been unfolding leave the waters rough and complicated. Reflection on the events in Afghanistan shows us the importance that US imperialism still has. The apparent abandonment of this regional pivot constitutes a risk for what Brzezinski called the Eurasian Balkans. Leaving the zone implies unbalancing the fragile balance and observing if other regional powers are capable of fixing it or initiating new conflicts that demand the presence of the United States.

Meanwhile, the regional concentration on the American continent of American power is a fundamental consequence. Brzezinski appears to be giving way to Huntington. The Afghan question is not minor, taking into account that the Taliban are an American creation. In other words, while it is true that they are withdrawing from military control in that region, both the government that was abandoned and the one that the Taliban seek to affirm have ties with the United States. There is no way to inhibit it.

The abandonment of Afghanistan is a sample of what can happen in the world. The pivot zones that have just been released now offer the possibility - and the risk - for the entire world to take matters into their own hands.

There is an anti-American obsession in various parts of the world and every situation like Afghanistan is evidence of what autonomy can cost, the return of religious fundamentalisms.

The fact that the United States -apparently- withdraws from this Eurasian geographical triangle implies a greater presence in the American continent. Something that can be positive or negative depending on the situation that each Latin American country can produce.

Increasing integration is the obvious consequence of this process, but as each nation in our latitude is capable of transforming its socioeconomic structure, the direct consequence may be colonialism, interventionism, or level integration.

In the Mexican case, the abandonment of Afghanistan means greater interventionism by the United States. Situation that also implies a strong responsibility. It is probably one of the last junctures that history offers for a formal integration. Mexico has nowhere to turn to form a geopolitical bloc and the situation with North America is natural.

There is a possibility that the situation in Mexico can change, but it requires a lot of cooperation from the political class.

The world right confronts each other, on the one hand, those who yearn to maintain the hegemony of the West and, on the other, those who think that this is over and victorious capitalism must take care not only of its victims but also of possibility and externalities so that mankind can survive.

While the Mexican political system is exhausted in a sterile and ridiculous competition, the speed of the changes that are shaping the post-covid world is lost sight of.

Mexico has the task of designing a giant economic strategy that is capable of measuring the demands and needs that American society now presents.

The importance of the United States cannot be evaded from the Mexican political agenda, it implies a greater possibility of jobs, emigration, exchange, trade, national security.

Organized crime groups will be the first to be affected by the US national concentration. The remnants of the peasant rebellion are concentrated in drug trafficking and organized crime, the presence of the United States and the awareness of its national security can contribute to the control of these groups. But the country must change its socioeconomic structure to take advantage of the greater concentration that the United States links to have regionally.

During the neoliberal era, the situation in Mexico was transformed - for better or for worse. It is no longer a rural country in the process of transition to an urban country. In one way or another, Mexico has more cities, highways, and industrial spaces that have changed the economy. Most of the Mexican peasants emigrated to North America to survive, and continue to do so, including people from small towns or those displaced by drug violence. Most of the Mexican farmers live in North American cities and, each time, they have had to dedicate themselves to activities that have almost nothing to do with agriculture. They are, perhaps, the main representatives of an accelerated schizophrenic modernity that the natives of what was called Latin America have lived since the 15th century.

How can Mexico contribute to pentagonism? The best contribution is to evade military intervention and take advantage of economic lines: trade, migration, national security and even agro-industrial reconversion

The Mexican Pale of Settlement or The Pale region that is becoming increasingly hispanic

The Mexican Pale of Settlement or The Pale region that is becoming increasingly hispanic

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

For a little more than a century, much of the Jewish community lived on the periphery of the Russian empire that was located between the Black Sea, the Baltic and even territories close to the Mediterranean. The end of the First World War and the triumph of the Bolshevik revolution, generated that this area was in a vacuum of power where the ambition of imperialism, the emergence of new nations and racist campaigns, detonated the Second World War and the War Cold The region is synonymous with perpetual violence and infinite hatred.

The south of the United States of America, territory stolen from Mexico, has become a Limited Settlement for all Mexicans in Latin America, Asia and Oceania. During the 19th century, millions of African slaves were slaughtered to build American wealth. With the advance of Anglo-Saxon economic and democratic liberalism, Africans were replaced by Hispanics. According to Samuel Huntington, or any other conservative analyst, Mexicans are a more serious challenge than Terrorism and seem to be about to build the Mexican American State.

The power of Mexican culture, especially surrealism and spontaneity, make it impenetrable and uncontrollable. The Anglo-Saxon values yield to the Mexican symbols. According to Huntington, in the south and the east of the United States, the WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) tends to be the stranger in his country.

Intervention is equal to inmigration and North America knows that it can not escape this axiom. France, with its selection of world champion football in 2018, must have recognized that the suicide of its white, Catholic and European model must yield to a reality that they provoked through colonialism. All empires observe as barbarians their colonized peoples. They bet even for its extinction. But it is a social regularity that these barbarians enter the metropolis and over time give new blood to the hegemony. It is also called elite circulation. Samuel Huntington glimpsed that part of the problem that now North America does not know how to solve and that, nevertheless, has in the option of multiculturalism a lasting solution.

The US migratory conflict has propelled the Executive Power of that country to supremacist politicians like Donald Trump; however, the geopolitical and hegemonic position of the United States has changed and can no longer recover its identity. However, the problems of a disorderly and overwhelming immigration have begun to infect the social pathologies that the countries of origin have and the superpower diminishes its governability, legality, health, order and citizenship. The responsibility has to do with the political elites and their incompetence, their ambition and longing for power. In the end, they do not defend a people or a race, they are a gang that seeks to enrich themselves and employ other opportunists.

If Donald Trump tries to be the Adolf Hitler that will take the Mexicans out of the limited settlement, we know how the story ends. Is the EU willing to balkanize the south and east of its territory? Will North America turn Mexico into the Poland of Hitler and Stalin? The problems derived from Mexican immigration in North America are related to the peculiar form of imperialism that has been practiced in Latin America. While the neoliberals, technocrats and pseudo fascists have the Yankee support to stay against institutionalizing the Welfare State in each of their countries, the result will be obvious. People prefer to emigrate and there will be no wall that stops their desire to reach North America to improve their standard of living and abandon the conservative narcomodernidad that only consolidates corruption and violence.

The Jimmy Carter experience and the IRCA of Ronald Reagan, can be a reference for the current situation. It is necessary that the United States implement policies to change the internal government of the expelling countries since a large part of what happens in Mexico and Latin America has been driven by US imperialism and the political class subordinated to them. North America has to stop supporting the Ayatolas of Neoliberalism in Latin America. They are responsible for a terrible period of poverty, corruption and violence. Until these groups cease in their desire to boycott their countries and mask liberalism is a patrimonialism without limits, only then, the Latin American republics can stabilize and contain the emigration.

The neoliberals are part of those old Nazi friends who served so much in the Cold War, but that was that expensive way. Is it not better to establish labor migratory treaties and conduct the expenditure of remittances in an effective way? Migrants, their countries of origin, have not returned much of the income for remittances they introduce. The ejector zones continue as usual; On the other hand, the states with the highest emigration rate disguise their metropolises with the façade of urban progress.

The solution is not to confront governments that little or nothing can cope with the magnitude of a problem that is global. The distribution of world income and the control of the economic, technocratic and criminal elites is the new task that the United States has at the forefront. If you let these situations pass, these cliques will not have any regard for the American people.

America must stop supporting the neoliberal façades that need caciques and drug traffickers for the political control of their countries, who do not accept the true market because they are not entrepreneurs but monopolists, who can not remove the influence of the cassock to think and behave . Likewise, it must allow the civic and participatory spirit to develop in the immigrants, instead of persecuting them with deportation, they must be encouraged to demand change and transparency from their countries, effective policies for modernization, immigrants can not continue financing factual powers so abusive and advantageous.

If the United States does not intervene in a positive way with countries that expel migration, then poverty will balkanize Yankee territory. George Friedmann, Robert D. Kaplan and Tom Clancy have warned it some time ago, the advance of the mafia cartels and the violence inside the United States is incredible. Will they be able to use extreme military force within their own country?

The Mexican polkos, who reveled in millions of dollars for allying themselves with the Nazis, surely expect Trump to build the IV Reich. Hopefully the president of the United States and American liberalism will learn from the past.
