End of Catholic Hispanism

 End of Catholic Hispanism

Diego Martín Velázquez Caballero

Dr. Elio Masferrer Kan has established that Mario Bergoglio is renewing the Catholic Church and, as far as possible, contributes significantly to achieving the values of the Second Vatican Council as well as a hierarchical diversification corresponding to social progressivism. Bergoglio's strategy is a response to the exacerbated nationalism that can fracture the hegemony of Catholicism in the world. But it is also a necessary action in the face of the abuses of the ecclesial bureaucracy and spiritual imperialisms like the Spanish that hurt, and continue to hurt so much, millions of people. The consequences of the adverse measure against Opus Dei are so varied that a message of an exhortation to the Spanish colonies for integration with their communities, for the construction of a universal society, is even transparent. Bergoglio's recent visit to Canada has symbolic elements of his religious message to Opus Dei.

Opus Dei is forced to contemplate its gap in the face of social reality, above all, to understand how anti-Catholic the combination of religious traditionalism with the Spanish counter-reformist casticism is. The organization is encouraged to change due to its excessive traditionalism, economic attachment and classism. The message of the Catholic religious authority is addressed, above all, to the intransigent Spanish Catholic nationalism twinned with the pro-Nazi regime of Francisco Franco. Catholic Nazifascism is increasing all the time, even now the United States is proposed as the starting point of the IV Reich for the future Holy Roman Empire.

Catholic Hispanism has been fundamental for the socioeconomic structuring of Ibero-America, but its virtues are overshadowed by a series of elements that block modernization: classism, traditionalism, colonialism, racism and dispossession. Geopolitically, the degradation of Opus Dei implies that in the Ibero-American world there are possibilities to bring the religious institutions of Catholicism closer to the people. Bergoglio has coordinated a renewal of the baroque vision of Catholic colonialism: the mentality of the excellent and oligarchic minorities. The deposition of Opus Dei promotes various Latin American theologies: Liberation, Indigenous, Feminist, Migrant, Labor, Homosexual. Plural, as Ibero-America has always been.

The intransigent integral Catholicism has been lost during most of the 20th century, the imperialist and Nazi-philosophical vision that was imposed on the Spanish Republic and contributed to the conservatism of the totalitarian madness, is forced to denazify itself to get involved with society, "ALL" the society, from a human and less institutional perspective. The papacy of Francisco, Mario Bergoglio, has made correspondence in the Catholic community a priority. Religious authorities must be more neutral, democratic, fair, inclusive. Social work is undoubtedly complicated and arduous. It is probably the last chance to maintain the universality of Catholicism.

If organizations like Opus Dei do not understand the importance of the link with the masses and, above all, with unprotected groups, the demands for sovereignty will end up building National Churches that are capable of doing something for their faithful believers, especially for the groups of the precarious Camels and needles, as León Felipe pointed out, are more Catholic than the Theology of Prosperity. Catholicism is universal, not just Spanish, not just traditionalist. The successful advance of Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity in Latin America is proof that Opus Dei and its extensions do not rescue anything, well, only the smell of gold and incense.

There cannot be a universal Catholicism with visions as exclusive and racist as those of Opus Dei. Since the arrival of Pope Francis, his role has been attacked and questioned by Catholic traditionalism and he is identified as an enemy of the Church. The option for these religious groups has been schism. The formation of Guerrillas Blancas is not Catholic now, nor crusaders, nor crusaders, nor messianisms.

In Mexico, Opus Dei is distinguished by its attachment to the business economic elites and the Spanish Colony. One of its most representative characters is Miguel Alemán Velasco, as well as a host of politicians, businessmen, intellectuals and conservative groups - members of various far-right facades - whose common denominator is Iberian casticism and oligarchic conservative modernity.

I hope that the measure imposed by Pope Francis on Opus Dei and Spanish Catholic nationalism is understood. Despite the optimism that it implies, the invisible power of uncompromising integralism has been the enormous obstacle to the renewal of Catholicism since the Second Vatican Council. The resignation of Benedict XVI, which shook the Catholic Church to generate changes in the attitude of Catholic nationalists such as Opus Dei and various Secret Societies, was useless. The Catholic Church is on the verge of extinction due to aspects such as the philo-Nazism of intransigent integral Catholicism, not due to Bergoglio or due to different groups that are awaiting and guiding a natural and contemplative spirituality; but they do not have white skin nor do they have many economic resources.

In Latin America these measures contrary to Opus Dei, and implicitly towards the Secret and Reserved Societies of the Far Right, would imply a change of the oligarchies in the control of the socioeconomic structure that has generated so much poverty and underdevelopment. In the first place, the Catholic schools -public and private- where the social doctrine of the church has been a resounding failure, one only has to look at its results, the hegemony of Catholicism in education is responsible for aporophobia, classism, racism and poverty that distinguishes our countries. Second, the lay Catholic leadership that traps political systems in authoritarianism, chiefdom, opacity, and violence. Alois Hudal or Jesus Christ? For the sociology of religions and psychology, the Lucifer effect of alienation caused by blind obedience, which offers so much evidence on traditionalist Catholic pedagogy, remains.

The political turn in Chile and the degradation of Opus Dei are proof of the defeat experienced by intransigent integral Catholicism, but also of the necessary renewal and reunion towards the Second Vatican Council. Latin America needs to get out of the Middle Ages, millions of human beings must be assisted by Catholic corporations to resist the world crisis, the indolence of the powerful can no longer hide behind Catholic membership. The true political transition is just beginning in Chile. The change inflicted on Opus Dei can have invaluable changes in Peru, Argentina, Mexico and all of Latin America where history is common.

Pope Francis, like the renewed Jesuitism of the sixties of the last century, speaks to the hearts of Catholics with his proposals and actions, his measures are endorsed by religious authority but depend on the people, on the popular flock, on the true church. The international crisis of the Catholic Church is also significant and the degradation of Opus Dei implies the withdrawal of Spanish Catholic nationalism so that the new Catholicisms begin to renew the representation of a universal church.

PAN-Vox, a strategy, not a mistake: Intermarium Model in Mexico 2024

PAN-Vox, a strategy, not a mistake: Intermarium Model in Mexico 2024

After the right-wing failure of the PAN in the presidency in the lukewarm conservative six-year terms of Vicente Fox Quesada and Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, the PAN is weaving a front with Coparmex, the anti-state businessmen of Claudio X. González and their functional citizen organizations and now with the far-right Spanish party Vox for 2024. In this context, the Vox visit organized by the far-right wing of the PAN was a strategic movement of the radical PAN bloc with messages to the rest of the PAN and especially to the neoliberal salinista-PAN PRI and the neoliberalized PRD in frank dialogue –according to the book by Jesús Ortega Martínez– with liberalism. In this political game, the strategic movements of President López Obrador should also be read: the Mexican embassy in Spain from Vox to the PRI governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel and some federal position to the Nayaritian PAN governor Armendariz, who arrived as a candidate of the PAN, PRD, PT and a local socialist party. Spain's diplomatic decision plays out on many fields: the PRI has always been the party idealized by the non-Marxist Spanish Socialist Workers' Party and an ally of the United We Can Party, both with a marked progressive populist tendency. Although it should not be read as an automatic movement, the fact that Vox has landed in the Mexican PAN as the ideological axis for the opposition-business-rightist alliance of 2024 is part of the context. The Spanish government would deal with a PRI ambassador - if the PRI endorses it and Madrid gives its approval a posteriori — as a representative of the uncomfortable government of López Obrador. The extreme right of the PAN with Vox comes from a historical strategic line known as Intermarium, an international anti-communist project (https://indicadorpolitico.com.mx/?p=10332) linked to the right of the Catholic Church and born in post-communist Poland to eradicate the Soviet remnants. The PAN (https://indicadorpolitico.com.mx/?p=1248) was born with the support and influence of Plutarco Elías Calles, already crushed by President Lázaro Cárdenas and his project of utopian socialism of a monopoly state. After the assault on the PAN by the northern business groups of José Angel Conchello (1972-1975, against Echeverría), Manuel J. Clouthier (1982-1988, against the expropriation of the bank) and Luis H. Alvarez (1987-1993, with the alliance with the anti-state Salinista neoliberalism), the right wing of the PAN was disappointed with the PAN's PRI of Fox and Calderón and the PAN as the revolving door for the return of the PRI to the presidency in 2012. Today the PAN appears as the articulating body of the right-wing groups that have swarmed in the PRI political regime of revolutionary nationalism: the Yunque, the WALL of Diego Fernández de Cevallos, the Tecos de Guadalajara, the Mexican Catholic Association of the church in the sixties as a pivot against the effect in Mexico of the Cuban Revolution (the novel Redil de Ovejas by Vicente Leñero portrays that time), the Association of Parents today in the PRI-PAN-PRD-Coparmex Alliance, the remnants of the nonexistent Democratic Party Me Xican as a synarchist refuge, the old Nazi formations asleep in the folds of the PAN and the American foundations financing the Mexican right. The conservative Catholic Church made an attempt to articulate the alliance with the PAN in 1984 with PAN businessmen and the pivot of the Reaganian ambassador John Gavin, but the religious reform of Salinas in its neoliberal market model deactivated the right-wing figures in Puebla. , DF and Guadalajara and the ecumenism of the Salinas Ernesto Corripio Ahumada deflated the ideological struggle, even without attacking the use of condoms and now only lukewarmly fighting against the decriminalization of abortion. In this context, the presence of Vox in the PAN was not a political error or a bad decision by some fifth-level PAN player. In fact, he has already defined the PAN's strategic line for 2024 and the Salinas PRI and the neoliberalized PRD will have no other way than to accept it because it is part of the polarizing approach of President López Obrador.

Mister Danger killed Don Quixote de la Mancha

Mister Danger killed Don Quixote de la Mancha

Diego Martin Velázquez Caballero

Understanding the meaning of Francoism in the cold war constitutes a surrealist approach that can generate severe labyrinths such as those caused by the visit of the Spanish Santiago Abascal to Mexico. Francisco Franco's Spain was a fascist dictatorship that survived thanks to the economic determinism of the Western world. Falangism was an important legitimator of Catholic nationalism, but especially of the United States.

The Iberian Peninsula became a space where different types of anti-communism converged and strategies were designed to influence Eastern Europe and Latin America. Francoism was a protagonist in the Cold War compared to its meager role during World War II. From Spain paramilitary, ideological, religious and partisan strategies were formed that were carried out by nationalist Catholics in the ecclesial and educational communities. In exchange for cooperating with the strategies of the Vatican and the United States to sustain US hegemony, Spain received the necessary financial support to confront the entrenched social crisis.

In Latin America things were a bit different. In addition to the Franco-Spanish influence, the conservative and de facto governments were persuaded and supported by North America. The experience of the Dirty War exemplifies them in a compelling way. The oppressors of the victims of the conflict are those who were part of the regional government, in the case of Mexico the Federal Security Directorate is affirmed.

What is the meaning of the transnational party structuring that VOX intends? The union of national rights is not a novelty in the history of the 19th century and particularly of the 20th, but in the scenario of the post-covid world and the Davos Forum's Agenda 2030, this fact shows that the West is not prepared to limit the hegemony of States. United or for social, racial, religious, economic and political ecumenism.

North America wants reasons to activate its war economy and Latin America is emerging as the new Iraq or Vietnam. Mexico was already the sparring partner of the United States throughout the 19th century, but when the civil war in the United States threatened the extinction of the American colossus, Lincoln turned to Mexico. Benito Juárez and Abraham Lincoln constitute the Pareto referent of the relations between the two countries.

Mexico needs a popular consultation to analyze the type of relationship it wants with North America. Topics such as the automated world, digital capitalism, emigration, health, artificial intelligence, birth control, aeronautics, etc .; they are the true uncertainty of the future. The Davos Forum has set out a series of goals that can shape a world without North American hegemony and that will slow down globalization. Following the game of the Hispanic or pro-Yankee anti-communist spy ends badly and the left always ends up being the platanito commander.

The drug war that Felipe Calderón unleashed was sponsored by the United States, which has never stopped intervening in conflicts in Latin America. The epidemic of failed states is the result of the conservative pact between the extreme right and false revolutionary nationalism, bad governance always causes colonialism. The United States wants to wage war, it is its business, the closer our region approaches ungovernability, the more the United States assures interventionism.

VOX came to challenge the Mexican constitution, the visit remains for the anecdote. Faced with historical memory, the event represents that for the Motherland Don Quixote de la Mancha no longer speaks, the dollar speaks. What can Don Alonso Quijano do against the empire? Give up. Die. It was not the fatal clash with reality that killed him, but the Anglo-Saxon economic dominance. VOX is the usual subsidized Franco regime. Although AMLO is betting that this fascist radicalization will split the opposition, the complicated thing is the local collaborators who are now doing what they had to do for Donald Trump to win. To defeat AMLO, the Mexican right - civil and religious - always subordinates itself to the United States, but with moderate groups that do not always support the radical conservatism of the Republicans.

The Mexican political class is stagnant in the aftermath of the cold war. The United States too. Latin America cannot follow medieval and anti-communist channels because they are fallacies that always end up delaying growth and development. Europe has the social force necessary to ignore Spain and Eastern Europe. The post-covid world poses a future where neither capitalism nor communism are protagonists.
